Bakewell Food Fair September - demonstrations, plenty of food stalls, real ale and dog friendly too!

Matlock illuminations and fireworks - spectacular lighting display and fireworks mainly in October.

Well dressing is a tradition of decorating well, springs and other water sources with designs decorated and created from flower petals.  Many villages in the Derbyshire and Staffordshire Peak District have their own well dressing celebrations often coupled with carnivals and other events.  The well dressings are usually held in the summer months from May through to September.  A few dates are given below of villages and towns closer to Riverside House holdiay cottage and www.welldressing.com has an extensive listing.
